Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Piclizer collects, why, and what we deliberately do not collect. The short version: your files are processed on your own device and never reach our servers, and we collect almost nothing about you.

1. Overview

Piclizer (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website piclizer.vercel.app and its subpages (the “Service”). This policy describes our practices regarding information collected through the Service. By using the Service you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

The Service is designed around a privacy-first architecture: file processing happens locally in your web browser using client-side technology. We do not operate an upload pipeline for your documents, images or text.

2. Information we do NOT collect

We do not collect or receive the files you process. Images, PDFs and text you place into a tool are decoded, converted and encoded by your browser on your device. We never see them, never store them and cannot recover them. We also do not require registration: there are no accounts, so we hold no names, usernames or passwords.

3. Information collected automatically

Like virtually all websites, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical log data for security and operation: IP address, browser user-agent, referring page, and the time of each request. This data is used to prevent abuse, diagnose errors and keep the Service available. It is not used to build advertising profiles and we do not attempt to identify individuals from it.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. We use the minimum needed to operate:

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer. Withdrawing consent stops non-essential cookies from being set on future visits; essential preference cookies cannot be switched off because the site cannot function without them.

  • Essential storage — remembers your cookie-consent choice, language and light/dark theme. These are first-party and stored only in your browser.
  • Analytics cookies — loaded only if you explicitly consent and only when the analytics module is enabled. Off by default.
  • Advertising cookies — loaded only if you explicitly consent and only when advertising is enabled. Off by default. See section 6.

5. Analytics

If, and only if, you consent to analytics cookies and the analytics module is enabled, we load Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation to understand aggregate usage (which tools are popular, which browsers need better support). Google Analytics is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. If you decline, no analytics script is loaded at all — not a reduced version, nothing.

6. Advertising and third-party vendors

We use advertising to keep the Service free. Where advertising is enabled and you have consented to advertising cookies:

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and you may opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

We do not control third-party ad networks and are not responsible for their practices; each operates under its own privacy policy. Advertising is always clearly separated from tool output and never interrupts an in-progress operation.

  • Google AdSense may be served, which uses cookies and device identifiers to select and measure ads.
  • Non-personalised ads may be shown to users who consent to advertising but not to personalisation, where supported.
  • No advertising script runs at all if you decline advertising cookies.

7. Data retention

Your files: never stored — processing is local, so there is nothing to retain. Consent cookies: stored until you clear them or change your setting. Technical logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited operational period, after which they are automatically deleted. We do not maintain any user database.

8. Data sharing and transfers

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. The only parties that may process minimal technical data are our hosting provider (site delivery and security logs) and — strictly with your consent — the analytics and advertising providers described above. Our hosting infrastructure may be located outside your country; where that involves transfer of personal data (for example from the EEA), standard safeguards such as adequacy decisions or contractual clauses applied by the processor are relied upon.

9. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the GDPR for EEA/UK residents and the CCPA/CPRA for California residents) you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is generally nothing to access, correct or delete — the most effective way to exercise control is the Cookie Settings panel, which can switch analytics and advertising off instantly.

California residents may also use the “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” right — we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. To make any request or ask a question, contact us via the contact page or the email listed there; we respond within 30 days.

10. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Since we collect almost nothing from anyone, a child using the tools exposes no personal information; nevertheless, we encourage parents and guardians to supervise children's internet use.

11. Security

The Service is served exclusively over HTTPS. Because file processing is client-side and no user database exists, the most common breach risks — stolen file archives and leaked account databases — are structurally impossible. We still apply strict security headers, input validation and dependency updates as part of routine maintenance.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Service or the law. The “last updated” date at the top of this page always shows the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for a reasonable period.

13. Contact us
